Prices on AMD's 64-bit Sempron have been released and interestingly enough socket A processors are more expensive than the Socket 754 ones. Digitimes has the listings.

In early August AMD will be lower their prices on the Semprons. The Sempron 2500+ will drop as much as $7(US). AMD is also planning to release their dual-core Athlon 64 X2 processor as a price of $345 .

The latest Celeron D' processors now features a 64 bit mode to boost performance of computers. The new chips would come with 256KB L2 cache and would require a 533Mhz system bus.

At Computex 2005 Intel announced that the Intel Celeron processors with EM64T are being 'shipped in volume'. The CPU are designed for Socket 775 with a bus of 533MHz and 256KB L2 cache.
