Overclockers talk about the gap between the Athlon 64 and the FX series.

So if we measure the gap in performance between the two 64s, then measure the gap between the 64 and the FX and finally compare the two, the gap between the 64 and FX ought to be generally rather bigger because the FX has an extra performance-enhancing advantage.

A gang at Overclockers Russia has unlocked a locked Athlon. How did they do it? They simply changed the L6 bridge configuration and tricked the mainboard into identifying a Mobile Athlon XP. Some pictures are up as well, check it out.

Breaking the 5 ghz barrier

Intel will never release a 5 ghz part on 0.13 process... mainly due to the extreme cooling you will need to do in order to keep the CPU from burning up. Tom's Hardware shows what kind of cooling you really need to clock a P4 that high.
